The applications for the 2010 Manning Point Fishing Classic have been opened in a glittering ceremony at Hamilton North Bowling Club.

No he wasn't - Fishin Phil had the acceptance speech written and was being proof-read by Mangrove, when Ganghook Gibbo, in front of a packed Waterbird Restaurant, cracked a winning flathead 15 minutes from the end of the tournament. Fishin showed true MPFC style by helping Ganghook land the fish

Day One was a relaxing and food focussed day for the fishing heroes. Unfortunately the food was mainly purchased rather than caught. The Waterbird Restaurant at the Manning Point Marina provided sensational Bacon and Eggs on Turkish Bread with high-end coffee (or milkshakes)

In a perfectly timed effort Ganghook Gibbo has taken out the 2009 Manning Point Fishing Classic with a large Flathead picked up with only 15 minutes left on the clock.

Mangrove Mike was credited with the order of the Pink Rod.

Day Two, the money day, has started well for Fishin Phil with a good bream.... more

Fishin Phil has taken the lead at the end of Day One with a nice flathead. Stingray caught a great whiting, Riverboat and Jewfish both got flatties and Ganghook a healthy bream.

Catfish Col is the overnight holder of the ink rod. The teams relaxed on the wharf at The Waterbird Restaurant.
