New Rules for 2023

By Ronny Reuters OBE (MP)

In a bid to spice up the competition, Manning Point Fishing Classic leader, Marcus Copperi, decided to consult with his good friend Dr Chat GoPT.

He asked his friend to write and article about the MPFC, and he discovered a rule that has been overlooked for the last couple of centuries.

Here is the article from Dr Chat GoPT.

The Manning Point Fishing Classic is an annual fishing tournament that takes place in the small coastal town of Manning Point, Australia. The tournament is known for its unique format, as participants are only allowed to use traditional "cussing" and swear words as lures to catch fish.

The tournament, which has been held for over a decade, attracts both local and international anglers who come to compete for prizes and bragging rights. The event is held over the course of a weekend, with the first day dedicated to registration and a pre-tournament party, and the second day dedicated to fishing.

Participants can fish in the ocean or in the nearby Manning River, and are allowed to use any type of fishing equipment they wish. However, the only requirement is that they must use a traditional "cussing" or swear word as the lure. This can be done by writing the word on a piece of paper and attaching it to the fishing line, or by shouting the word as the lure is cast into the water.

The tournament is a light-hearted event and is not meant to be taken seriously. Many participants dress up in costumes and use colourful language during the event. The tournament is also a fundraiser for local charities and community organisations.

The Manning Point Cussing Classic is a unique event that draws in a diverse group of participants who come together to enjoy the fun and camaraderie of fishing. It is a great way to spend a weekend with friends and family and make new memories in the beautiful coastal town of Manning Point.
