2009

The 2009 Poissons et Boisson Extrêmes Manning Point Fishing Classic was held on March 6th, 7th and 8th 2009. The tournament was hotly contested with veteran Ganghook Gibbo crowned as  Pêcheur de Respect Elevé (Fisherperson of High Regard).

Congratulations to Ganghook and all other competitors for a great 2009 Classic.

2008

The 2008 Classic was won in fine style by rookie Riverboat Rastus with his huge Guitar Fish (Shovel Nosed Shark) on Day 0.

2007 Champion, Stillwater Steve, is shown here presenting the Champions Hat to Riverboat (with keen losers Mangrove Mike and Ganghook Gibbo in the background).

Team Blue, comprising BigJig, Mangrove Mike and Riverboat  won the Premier Groupe de Pêche.

2007

The 2007 Manning Point Fishing Classic has been successfully won by Stillwater Steve, with Mangrove Mike a close second. Stingray Smithie caught a nice stingray off the beach but we didn't get a chance to weigh it. Sorry Stingray.

The winning fish was a Cobia, a rare fish in these waters, but a typical example of the exotic nature of the Manning Point Fishing Classic and the extreme skills of the participants.

2006

The Manning Point Fishing Classic is over for another year. A great win to Big Jig Geoff was very popular among the crowds who flocked to the tournament.

Team White won the team event and the competitors are now off to complete the rest of the Poissons et Boisson Extreme Fishing Tour.

2005

After a weekend of great weather and not so active fishing, Barnacle Barry took out the 2005 Manning Point Fishing Classic.

Using his in depth knowledge of the esturarian river systems, Barnacle embarassed those around him by being the only participant on his Team Alpha to land any fish. A flathead king, Barnacle pulled in a beauty on Day One which was never beaten throughout the rest of the tournament.

Well done, Barnacle!
