For the second year in a row a rookie has won the Manning Point Fishing Classic.

Young Riverboat Rastus was declared winner with his Friday afternoon Spotted Guitar Fish a.k.a. Shovel Nose Shark.

Day 1 started off slowly after a night of great entertainment at Manning Point Bowling Club. The team caught 7 meat trays in the raffles which should have augured well for the marine kill expeditions.

The Greater Manning Council AGM minutes recently released have shed light on the perptually shady admissions policy of the Manning Point Bowling Club.

In an unanimous decision, all councillors voted to allow the short, balding, rotund local authority figure to tighten his admission requirements even further.

Thousands of eager spectators, desparate to beat the rush of previous years are heading to Manning Point early.
